W1: Process of Model

Idea of sound . modeling

Reflection of sound

 

First, we were thinking the colour represent the strength of sound, also the gap is increasing when away from the sound source. red>orange>yellow>green>blue

Finally, we chose different colours to represent different types of sound.

Red: train and truck

Orange: Cars

Yellow: build activity

Green: Human

Blue: Animals

We use the tracing paper outline the area and the section we chose and then traced the sound resource , draw the extension sound which cover on the map.

Also, get contour map from GIS viewer which provides the base of our section horizontal model.

Here is the real model and I combine to the map from google earth which is clearly seen that the relationship between sound and the use of area. Also we can easily figure out the impact of the negative sounds like traffic noise and train noise which influence the residence on that area.

        For the vertical model, we chose the apartment which is near a quiet walking area. The place has strong comparison between the modern living area and nature area.
